L'ORÉAL Infalliable 24H Foundation- Review!

06:12 April Nicole Clark 1 Comments

Hey guys! I haven't done a review yet on this blog and since i just purchased the new l'oreal foundation i though, why not start now!
Hope you enjoy!
*DISCLAIMER* i'm not claiming to know a lot about make-up and what i say about this product is not a professional review! This is just my personal view on this product, so just don't take this too seriously! (-:

Firstly, i have the colour 015 porcelain which i think is the lightest colour, because i'm practically a ghost! The colour suits my skin really well, i often have difficulty finding a foundation they either make me look orange or yellow, even buying the lightest colour. That's the first thing that made me like this foundation, it actually matched my skin colour! I got mine from superdrug and it cost £8.99, i guess depending on where you purchase the product, depends on how much you'll pay.
There's 8 different colours choices, bit of a downside if you have darker skin as the colours only go up to a "tanned" skin colour. (Image was found from the l'oreal website: http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/make-up/infallible-face.aspx)

This foundation is said to have a high coverage, i do agree that this foundation has a good coverage but if you're interested in a full coverage then you will need to add concealer; overall though it's a nice coverage, not too cakey either!
It says it's meant to last you 24hrs now, i don't believe any foundation will last you 24hrs without some form of "touch up" but this does a pretty good job! It lasts until the evening if i'm not doing a lot and sweating, but if i've got a busy day on then it will probably need a touch up to make it last a little longer! (Also in my opinion, if you're willing to invest in a primer that helps too! But it's not essential!)
When it comes to "does it cover redness and spots?" the answer if yes! I suffer from quite bad red skin and this foundation does a great job in covering that up, which i love! I also have quite large dark circles under my eyes so i need concealer there, but even with the foundation by itself it does a good job of covering those up too. I do think that even with the most high end foundations, concealer is something that is needed, just for those little bits that the foundation might not have fully covered!
This foundation also claims to be hydrating, which is something that convinced me to buy it as i suffer from quite dry skin so i always like to get a hydrating foundation. It does deliver! The foundation is quite light when on the skin and does not dry my skin out like some foundations do and it applies nicely on my skin. It does not mean that you can not wear moisturiser before applying foundation as that's something you should always do, but it does keep the skin hydrated and doesn't make it look dry or "tired" after long wear.
Below is what the foundation looks like after first application! (i apologise for my odd looking face!)

Overall, this foundation does match up to the claims it makes! Admittedly, it's can be a bit pricey if you're not one to spend a lot on foundations but i do believe that it is worth the money, it's a good foundation for the price you're paying. In my opinion, for someone that doesn't often wear foundation as they always make me look orange or cakey etc, this is a foundation i could use daily still feels light on the skin! I would recommend this if you're looking for a new foundation!

I hope you've enjoyed my first review!  I tried my best to give a full review and cover everything, but if not then i'm sorry, i'll keep trying!
Let me know what you think of this foundation, if you have it? If you don't have it, do you want it? & What's your favourite foundation?
Thank you!

My Valentines Day!

11:03 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! I know that this isn't the post that everyone wants to see, could be considered quite "soppy" or that i'm "bragging" (which i'm not..) but i thought it would be a nice post to give you an idea of how my lovely day/evening went!
This post is sort of like an OOTN (outfit of the night) along with what my make-up look was etc. I hope you enjoy!

My boyfriend was surprising me on where we were going that night so picking an outfit was made pretty difficult! (thanks bri) So, i went with an outfit that was pretty simple  yet "classy", since i didn't know how fancy this place was!

My dress is from www.boohoo.com, i tried to find a link to the dress but i don't think they sell it any more which is a shame, but they have plenty others pretty similar if you're looking. I wore it with a pare of plain black tights as it was far too cold not too!
My necklace is from F&F again, tried to find a link and couldn't! But i love any big gold necklace with a black dress, it gives the look a much bigger impact.
Even though you can't see the shoes, i wore black flats from new look. http://www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-shoes/black-suedette-slipper-shoes-_293538301 finally found a link!

Nails were false by impress nails. I don't often wear false nails but if i do i will wear these, they're so good! They don't require any glue they have a sticky tape at the back and you simple take it off and stick them on your nails, easy! They don't require any glue, which i love, i can't be down with the hassle.

For make-up i kept it pretty simple. For foundation i wore my MAC skin finish in the colour NW15 and my maybelline fit me powder in the colour 125. On my eyes i wore come along better eye-shadow, the colour moonshine all over lid and the colour smoke in the crease and blended. I used maybelline felt tip eye-liner and rimmel scandaleyes mascara. For my brows i used along came betty brow kit in the darkest brown colour. I finished it off with the sleek blush in pixie pink. On my lips i wore revlon lip butter in the colour cotton candy! (I couldn't get a proper photo of my make-up, lighting was horrid!)

Bri took me to the most lovely restaurant ever ever (ever!) Bannatyne's Hotel! It was just so beautiful, the whole place had a lovely atmosphere about it and it was perfect! The table had the prettiest and delicate decorations with little candles on each table, which i loved! I was we walked in there was an acoustic singer that performed most of the night, he was so good! AND THE FOOD, damn, don't get me started on the food.
For starters i had a tomato and basil soup, mains was a rack of lamb with apricot and swede mash, dessert was my favourite by far though; raspberry creme-brulee with a shortbread biscuit and strawberries! YUM.
We also had some rosé champagne to do with it too! #PoshNosh
(No pictures of the food, sadly! I couldn't stop myself from eating it straight away..)

The whole night was pretty much completely perfect! I hope you all had a lovely valentines whether you are in a relationship or single, you should never be sad on valentines! Hope you've also enjoyed reading about my valentines day too, it wasn't intent to be bragging, just to show you guys how i spent my day! Tell me ho you spent yours'?
Check out my other blog posts, thanks!

What's on my make-up table!

11:34 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! So, this post is going to be out what I have on my make-up table (it's not really a table but still..) My sister gave me this idea after i was having trouble thinking of a post, she told me that other bloggers have done it and i should do it too.
Let's get started!

Firstly, we have my chest of drawers for my make-up, i found it on a food shop when i went to Sainbury's! It was on sale for £3 down from £6, i'm wasn't going to pass that bargain up!

In the bottom draw is all my foundations and concealers. I have quite a lot more foundations but i've narrowed done these as my favourites and i've kept these in my "everyday use" draw. My favourite foundation there is my mac studio fix in the colour NW15, my favourite concealer is my lasting perfection concealer by collection in the colour fair.

The draw above is where i keep my "powdered products". I have my eyebrow kit, my eye-shadows, powder and bronzer. Like the foundations i have quite a lot more of these but these are the ones i use everyday or are my favourites! The powder i'm currently using is my maybelline fit me powder, which was also in my January Favourites!

The final draw is filled with sort of, miscellaneous things. Mostly, my mascaras and my eye-liners, but with my lipsticks and lipglosse, handcreams and a few other random things! It's basically the draw that i can't really place but all of the stuff in it i still really need, wow...

Next to that is my brushes pot, which is actually a candle holder that i found in sainsbury's too! In between the draws and the pot is my sleek storm palette and my little hotties wax melt candle leaflet. If you don't know what little hotties is here's a link to where you can find them! http://bombcosmetics.co.uk/little-hottie-wax-melts

Next is my two perfumes that i'm currently using, Giorgio Armani Si and Marc Jacobs Daisy. I'm currently using Si as my winter fragrance (it was also in my January Favourites too) and i used Daisy as my summer fragrance last year, definitely going to be a repurchase for this year too!

Finally, we have my jewellery holder, which is suppose to look like a dress manikin but with the load of necklaces that are there, you can't really tell! I've had it since i was 13 and it's gradually built up with quite a few different pieces of jewellery, necklaces, rings, bracelets etc. My favourite necklace on there is the one i was given for being a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding back when i was 11! It's so precious and it means a lot to me (even though you can't really see it behind the huge piece of gold jewellery!)

Well, that's pretty much it! I hope you enjoyed having a little look into how i arrange my make-up and a few other bits that make up my favourite part of my room!
Check out my other blog posts!
Thanks!

January Favourties!

14:15 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

How has February come round so quickly, where did January even go, i don't understand?! Honestly, i'm glad that it's over January is a month where everyone is getting over their post-christmas blues and starting (failing) all the new year's resolutions. So, i thought what a way to start February with my January favourties!

I've picked a few different items, a mix of hair and make-up etc of what i've been loving for the past month!

My first favourite is the Giorgio Armani perfume, Si. I got this for christmas and i've used it everyday since! I got the small 30ml one that came in the set with the shower gel. I'm really bad at describing scents, but i'll try my best! OK, so it's quite a musky scent yet it has a hint of a sweet smell (see, told you i'm bad..) with is being quite a strong smell, you don't need a lot to make an impact! I feel like this is my winter perfume, as it's not sweet or fruity enough to be a spring/summer perfume, (also gives me an excuse to buy another perfume for spring!).

Next is my born lippy body shop lip butter! My lips are always extremely dry and chapped and it's even worse in the winter, so i'm constantly trying to find a lip product that will help with it that also wont irritate my lips, it's not a fun time. BUT this product is my holy grail for the winter months and for all the other months. It has quite a thick consistency so this means that you only need a small layer, this means it'll hopefully last throughout all winter, especially for someone like me who uses lip products every 5 minutes! They do all different flavours and scents i have the mango and strawberry, but i'm only using the strawberry currently. THEY BOTH SMELL AMAZING. The strawberry also has a bit of a red colour tint to it too, so it also adds a little something to your make-up while also hydrating yo' lips! Overall, i'm in love with these lip butters and i will of course buy so many more! (More than i actually need..)

For hair products i haven't really changed them up for a while, but there are a couple of products that i've loved this month! One of them is the VO5 plump it up, back combing spray. My hair is quite flat and it's difficult to keep the volume in my hair after washing and first doing my hair so it was extremely irritating having flat and lifeless hair after 2 hours of being out! I'd heard good reviews of this spray and it did not disappoint! Just a couple of sprays in the roots of your hair can give it a good lift and re- "omphs" it during the day! It suits well when you curl your hair and also looks great when you straighten it too, probably better when you straighten your hair since your hair is more likely to be "flat" after doing that. I highly recommend this product if you're one for wanting full and hair with body.

Another hair product that has been essential for styling my hair! Due to the fact that i dye my hair quite often and use far too much heat it causes my hair to get super bad frizz after washing my hair, even after straightening it it still remains pretty frizzy! The frizz-ease finishing creme is the best product for frizz i have ever used! Basically, after styling your hair whether it be curling, straightening, crimping etc. applying a pea sized amount of the creme afterwards gets rid of pretty much all the frizz or fly aways! I also feel that it "completes" styling my hair and gives a bit of extra body as well, so this product is no.1 for me!

There have been a lot of make-up products this month that i've thought were my favourites, but i've narrowed it down to 3! Firstly, is the maybelline fit me power in the colour 125 nude biege. I bought this because my previous power the maybelline stay matte had run out, i'd heard some good reviews on this product so i thought i'd give it a try? I was not disappointed! This powder is my favourite from what i've  used from maybelline, it has a nice finish so it doesn't make you look like you've "caked" your make-up on, because that's never a good look... The colour suits well with my face, as i'm so pale it's difficult to find a product that doesn't either make me look yellow or orange, but this one fits well! (har har FITS, get it? FIT me? oh, ok.)

Next, make-up item i've been liking is the sleek blush in the colour pixie pink! I've heard about sleek from youtubers/bloggers like zoella and tanya burr so i thought i'd give it a go as well. For some reason though, they don't sell sleek make-up in my nearest drug store, so it took me until i traveled out of my way and happened to stumble across it, so i couldn't not buy it! I'd never tried a BRIGHT blusher before so this one made me a little nervous, but this looked so nice when applied! The blush wasn't too bright and looked nice on my skin colour which made me happy since i had no idea what blush would suit my skin. Overall, love this blush!

A body product that i've loved this month (and for the past few months) is the body shop body butter, in strawberry which as you can tell is my favourite scent... I'm really bad when it comes to moisturizing my skin, i always forget and i hate waiting for the lotion to dry, but this body butter is so much nicer than any i've tried! Firstly, it smells amazing which is just a huge thing for me when it comes to buying lotions, and it also dries quickly so i'm not stood around for ages awkwardly waiting. I also like them because they come in such large "bowls" (at least that's what they look like) they last such a long time as you don't need a lot!

That's my favourites for this month! I'll try to do them every month, but i'm not making any promises because i know that i'll forget, but i will try! Hope you've enjoyed!
