Trip to London!

14:08 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! As you may know i spent Monday to Wednesday in London with my lovely boyfriend! We crammed quite a lot in for the three days that we had and it was so great having a "mini-break" before we both start our new jobs! So, i decided i'd make a blog post of our trip, hope you enjoy!

Day One:
We arrived into London at around ten to one, but we couldn't check in to our hotel until three, ugh. So, we spent the majority of the afternoon wandering around St. Pancras, how exciting! We had lunch in a french café/restaurant thing called Le Pain Quotidien i have to say, it's quite pricey but it's a lovely place to eat, i'd recommend it!
After we spent what seemed like hours in St. Pancras we checked into our hotel, freshened up and went to the London eye! This was my second time going on the eye and it's something that you need to do when visiting London!
Once we've finished with the eye we went back king's cross and found a NANDOS, which is always a winner having a nandos near your hotel.
End of first day!

Day Two:
Brian forced me to get up at like eight in the morning, to which i was NOT impressed, but hey ho, we had quite a lot to do that day! We'd left the hotel by about nine-ish to have breakfast in Le Pain Quotidien, i had scrambled egg, salmon and toast which was amazing! (Sadly, i wasn't totally hipster-y and instagram or take a photo of it, i apologise.)
We went straight from breakfast to the London sea life aquarium (i don't think you understand how excited i was to be going there, oh my lord, i was SO EXCITE). You probably don't know about my crazy shark obsession, it's quite worrying actually, but i think they're so pretty and i want one... moving on.. Basically, i love anything to do with the sea and fish and things so this was amazing! I think we spent two to three hours in there and it's most certainly worth it, if you're ever visiting London i recommend going! We then went straight from there to oxford circus and regent street, all those shops to have a browse around while we had some spare time. Oh yeah, walking out of Liberties we bumped into Reggie Yates, that was cool.
THEN WE GET TO THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP, BRIAN SURPRISED ME WITH TICKETS TO SEE THE LION KING MUSICAL!
But first, we went for dinner at a place called Maxwells (i think) in Covent Garden then we RAN to the theatre, which is not fun on a full stomach... Unfortunately, you weren't allowed to take pictures while you were in the theatre but trust me when i say, IT IS AMAZING, IT'S SO GOOD.  For someone who is one of the biggest disney fan's in the entire world i think i exploded inside seeing it.
I was so so so incredibly grateful and shocked and just so happy that Brian had gotten us tickets for that, it was, just indescribable how happy i was. LOVE YOU BRI-PIE.
Then we lazily made our way back to the hotel.
End of day two! (best day!)

Day Three:
Since we had a train to catch at half two we decided that we'd keep things simple on the last day, and not go too far. Walking back from the theatre last night we walked past the London Film museum which is currently hosting the Bond In Motion exhibition, it's all of the James Bond cars from all of the films! Brian is the biggest James Bond fan that i know, so we couldn't leave London and not go there, so that's where we spent our last day in London! Now, i'm not a huge bond fan but i really enjoyed spending time in there, it's interesting to see the cars and a few other props from the films.
After the bond museum we went to Harrods and had a some coffee and had a look around before we had to go back to Kings Cross and get our train home. *sad face*

Okay, that was a rather long blog post, but i tried to shorten it down as much as i could!
I had the best time in London and i didn't want to come home, but that's always a good sign of a holiday!

Hope you guys enjoyed reading about my little holiday, have you done any of the things we did? If not, do you want to do any of it? Have you guys got anything else i could do in London next time i go? Let me know! I'll also being doing a post with just images of the "photography" i did while i was down there too, but i couldn't fit that in this post too!

Thanks for reading!

What's in my travel bag! (Plus travel tips!)

15:18 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! As you might know me and Bri are going to london tomorrow! (Yes, i know i left this post quite last minute as it is now half 9 on the night that we're going. High five for organisation!) I don't know if you guys are like me but i hate packing, with a passion! I always have this fear that i'll forget something which means i take everything but the kitchen sink in a little suitcase.
So, i'm hoping me posting this will help some of you out on what to take when travelling!
Enjoy!

Okay, first i love the miniature versions of beauty products, i'm aware that's odd. They're just so useful not just for travelling but for putting them in your handbag rather than having to carry around larger products! (I apologise for the bad quality photos, i quickly took them while packing this evening!)

Firstly, i'm quite a clean freak when travelling i always like to have hand wipes or some form of gel, so that's always essential for me. I'm not too picky with what types i get just as long as they smell nice and do the job! Also, i suggest after washing your hands that you use a moisturiser too.
Depending on how long you're going for little shampoos and conditioners are always useful! Since i'm only going for two nights these will be good for me. Any brand is good, unless you're picky with shampoo! If you're only going for one night, or you don't need to wash your hair as often then a dry shampoo will work just as well for you! On the line of hair products, i also have a mini heat protect for when styling my hair, but this isn't an essential.
For skin care i don't like taking my larger bottles so buying face wipes and a mini toner and moisturiser will suit for a few days. I've never been able to find a simple cleaner in miniature i can only ever manage to find their toner and moisturiser, if anyone knows where to get one please let me know!

Then you've got the essential things such as deodorants and shower gel. Shower gel might not be needed because in some hotels they will provide them, if you're in a really swanky place they'll give you shampoo and conditioner too!

My tips for travelling!
Plan things the night before! I know this seems like an obvious one, but there's nothing worse than rushing around before catching a flight or train etc. trying to sort everything out! 10/10 do not recommend.

Make a check list! I always do this and it's a lifesaver, write down everything you need to take and everything you need to do! Trust me, when you're stressing trying to figure out what to take a check list will be your god.

Keep any documents or any important information together, i suggest in a plastic folder of some sort. If you're travelling somewhere where you're carrying for example, passports, booking conformations etc. then it's never good just to have them floating in your purse, because you will lose them! Keep them together in a folder might be more to carry, but you won't lose anything important!

Don't bring anything you don't need! I know, i know you think that you're going to need your curlers or your hair dryer or five different types of foundation, (maybe not guys on this one...) but you really don't! Just bring your essentials, a small make-up bag, one hair styling product (hair dryers are usually provided in a hotel) and anything else you REALLY need when travelling. Trust me, when you need to carry everything with you, you'll regret bring your whole make up case.

Okay, well it's not half past ten and i think i should go to bed now! Hope you enjoyed my tips and finding out what i take with my to travel! Do you guys do the same thing? Or have you got any tips that you do when travelling? Let me know!

Sunday Fun!

09:06 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! Yesterday was my first Sunday off work in a long time, so i took the time to go out and enjoy it!
I thought it would be a good blog post for you guys too, something a little different than just beauty stuff, hope you enjoy!

Sadly, i forgot to take my nice camera with me to get better pictures, so i had to use my phone instead. We first went down to Archer's ice cream parlour not far from where we live, it's a small farm too so around this time of year there's calves and lambs and other animals there too. Admittedly the weather wasn't totally sunny but it didn't stop us from going and having ice cream, i have caramel smurf (i have no idea what flavour it was, but it wasn't caramel! Still tasted good!) and Brian had cinder toffee!
Afterwards me and Brian went back to my house and had a play in the garden with my little sister Jennifer, it may not have looked very sunny but it was nice enough to have a kick about in the garden! Brian showed off his bowling skills from cricket and me and Jennifer attempted to teach Brian how to do a handstand, which didn't work out very well... but he tried! My garden doesn't look it's best right now, i know, but usually where we live it can still sometimes be snowing this time of year! So we haven't really done a lot in the garden, it'll look lovely in summer, promise!
Me and Brian then went to watch High School Musical 2 and 3! (We watched the first one the other day, so we had to watch the others!) My mum made us all apple pie as well, which was nice, so we sat and ate that and relaxed all evening. A perfect Sunday for me!

Well that was my Sunday in a nutshell! It was a bit of a random one but i had a good day either way! Since i didn't get to take some nice photos with my other camera, i'll have to go out with my camera another day!
But i still hope you enjoyed! How do you like to spend Sundays? Do you work, spend time with family? Let me know!

February Favourites!

13:58 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! Sorry i'm a bit later uploading this but better late than never, i suppose!
Few different things in this month's favourites, rather than beauty and hair stuff there's a couple of other favourites i thought i'd include!
Hope you enjoy!

My first favourite is something that Tanya Burr spoke about in one of her videos, the Tresemme hair oil! She spoke about this in a hair tutorial video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM7cZaX03Lc&list=UUrIIH7yHQugaUuoTZDoEUuQ) so i thought i'd give it a go and i wasn't disappointed! This can be used in a few different ways, i chose to use it after i've washed and towel dried my hair and put it on the ends of my hair, it does wonders for split ends and fly aways! I sometimes use it after straightening as a finisher or something, either way, it's good for both, definitely recommend!

Next, is the VO5 smoothly does it mousse! I spoke about the plump it up spray in my January favourites and i wanted to see if their mousse was just as good, which it is! After washing my hair i'll but a decent amount in my hair and then blow dry my hair, gives my hair a lot more volume than if i didn't use it! It's going to be a product i'll repurchase as well, which is weird for me, i'm always switching up make-up and hair products all the time!

For make-up one of my favourites was the L'oreal infallible-face foundation, i did a review of it a few weeks ago. Before this foundation i use to hate wearing a full face of foundation, but i love this one! It feels light on and the colour suits well to my skin, i could never find a foundation that wouldn't make me look either yellow or orange. I go into more depth about how i feel about the foundation in another blog post, take a look if you want? (http://aprilnicoleclark.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/loreal-infalliable-24h-foundation-review.html)

Now this next favourite is a bit different from previous ones, Bully: Scholarship Edition! Bully is a computer that i've recently got in to after watching PewDiePie play it, I'll admit i'm not the biggest "gamer" but i did really enjoy this! Basically, the plot is you are this fifteen year old boy, called Jimmy and you've been dumped at this mad school, there's a lot more to it but you're trying to restore "peace" to the school etc. I'm terrible as describing games or anything like that, but i'll leave a link to PewDiePie's video in case you're interested! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjdnJ-Meu3I) I'm aware this is a bit different from usual favourites, but it's something i've been loving this month so i have to share!

My final favourite of this month is my new heeled boots! I'd been wanting a pair of heeled boots for so long but i could not find any decent pairs that suited me, and went well with my style, until i found these beautiful shoes! They were £45 from Topshop they have a large, chunky heel and a suede feel on the outside (not the best for bad weather!) They're padded slightly on the inside which makes them comfortable to walk in for long periods of time, i've been able to wear them walking around the shops for hours too! They go with pretty much everything which i love and they're my new favourite shoes, i haven't stopped wearing them! Although they could be expensive for some people they are definitely worth the money in my opinion if you're looking for a pair of boots!
(Thank you Topshop for the photos, mine don't look as new now...)

Those are my favourites for February, they were a bit different from before and i didn't have as many as last month, but hey ho i hope you still enjoyed!
Do you own any of these? Do you like them? If not, what are your favourites of February? Leave me a comment!
Thank you!

My life in 20 questions, TAG!

07:06 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! This week i've seen on tumblr and a few other websites this "my life in 20 questions TAG" and it seemed pretty interesting! The questions seemed different from other tag posts, so i thought i'd give it a go!
Enjoy!

(Slightly boring question to start, i'll admit) What is your favourite colour?
My favourite colour is a very light baby pink.

What is your favourite number?
2! it's my birth date, so it seemed appropriate!

What is your dream career?
My dream career is to be a photographer! My dad, cousin, uncle and auntie have all been in the business and my cousin even owns her own wedding photography company! I've always been around it and i picked it up at a young age, i love it! There's nothing i like better than picking up my camera (i have a pentax k-r with an additional flash and a 50mm lense too) and going out and taking photos of basically, everything! It's a lot of fun!
I'm going to try and do a post of some of my favourite pieces of my work, but i haven't quite got round to it yet! But it'll come eventually!

Where do you see yourself living when you're on your own?
As things are in my life at the moment, when i do move out it is likely to be in a rented house, not far from where i currently live. Although, if things change then i'll most likely be looking for an apartment somewhere, not too big and i want to live in a nice area! As i'm only 17 right now, i'm not thinking too much about it just yet.

Where is your favourite place to travel?
The furtherest i've travelled is Canada and so far it is my favourite place to go! Sadly i can't go their too often without at least a years planning in advance, but i will take any opportunity i get to travel their again! I've been three times and i've travelled to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Niagara! In the country i live though, my favourite place to travel is Edinburgh!

What do you do in your free time?
Not a lot, i've got to be honest! I spend a lot of time with my boyfriend, i go to work, and i think about different blog posts! I love shopping (how cliche), i love going out for coffee and going out with my camera, when the weather is decent that is!

Favourite clothing stores?
I spend basically my life in Topshop! But i enjoy shopping in, new look, misguided and sometimes river island!

Dream car?
Hands down, Fiat 500 in white with red and green stripes.

What TV shows can't you live without?
Friends and Sherlock probably, i don't often watch TV any more.

3 things you need in your life?
My family, they're amazing and i love them to pieces!
My lovely lovely boyfriend. He's my rock and i love so so very much!
My best friends, they're fabby. They are always there for me and make me laugh even when i feel my worst!

I can't sleep without..
Bri's hoody, this is very cheesy i know, i know.

If you were given one million dollars (or pounds in my case) what would you do with it?
Firstly, i'd give some to the Great North Air Ambulance, my boyfriend does some work for them and they're an amazing charity too!
I'd give some to my family, of course!
Some i would put away and the rest i would put down for a house, a car or a holiday!

I have a celebrity crush on...
FAR too many people. Leonardo DiCaprio is my babe, Johnny Depp, Bradley Cooper, the list goes on... I have a girl crush on Emma Stone too, not gonna lie.

What is your favourite snack to eat?
Hm, i don't know if they're a global thing but mattesons fridge raiders are da bomb.

My favourite wild animal is...
SHARK. I adore sharks, a great white to be specific but i think sharks are the coolest and prettiest creatures on the planet!

Favourite season?
SUMMER! i hate the cold weather and i'm always counting the days until summer is back!

What do you hold close to your heart?
My family, friends and perfect boyfriend. They're always there to put up with me even when i go a bit insane, which is often.

What is one artist that you're in love with?
JUST ONE?! That's not fair, i love so many! Guess at the moment it's Bastille, they're amazing! Their music is so good and they seem like such down to earth guys! I saw them at a festival last year and they were awesome, but sadly i couldn't get tickets to see them this year! I'd go see them again in a heart beat!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I'm aware the questions were a bit random and all over the place, but hey, this tag was interesting and i enjoyed writing it!
I now tag YOU, all of you, to do this too!
Do you agree with any of my answers? If not, tell me your opinions!

Thank you!
