Hey guys! Since the weather where i live has been pretty lovely recently, i thought i'd take the opportunity to out for a walk with my camera! I went for a walk not far from where i live, went down to the river and took some photos and enjoyed the sunshine.
Here are some photos, hope you enjoy!

Well, there you go! Not the most exciting of posts, or the one that involves a lot of reading, but i hope you've enjoyed having a nosey!
This weather has been so lovely recently it's made me want to go out with my camera more often, so they'll probably be some more of these sorts of posts until the end of the summer, so hope you enjoy!
Thanks!

*UPDATED* My skin care routine! & Natural make-up look!

07:38 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! Bit of a different post this time. I've updated my skin care routine and thought you'd like to know what i'm now doing differently and i've decided to show you a natural make-up look! Now, i've never really done anything like this before so be nice (please) but i thought i'd give it a go. Let me know if you like it?
Hope you enjoy!

Firstly, my updated skin care routine! First of all, i'll show you my morning routine, as my night and day routines are slightly different. On a morning i'll get up and wash my face with a hot wash cloth, and apply my Simple triple action face wash. Now this face wash does smell a little funny as it has zinc and camomile in it, but it feels lovely on the skin and makes you feel so fresh when you're trying to wake-up yourself on a morning! It prevents stops and makes me skin feel really soft, if you've got sensitive skin like me then i would suggest using Simple products, they have barely anything in and feel great on the skin.

I'll then use my Garnier sensitive skin toner to tone my skin. I mentioned this on my June Favourites post, so i won't go into too much detail. But here's the link if you want to know more! (http://aprilnicoleclark.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/june-favourites.html)

Finally, i will then apply my moisturiser/primer, which is still the same it is the Nivea moisture prime. I love this stuff! It goes on so lovely on the skin, it's great for people with sensitive skin and if you're lazy when it comes to primers (like me) if can all be done in one step! It makes your make-up last a lot longer and it makes your pores look almost invisible when applied!

Next, we have my night time skin care routine! This is just taking off my make-up on an evening, sometimes doing a face mask as well, just a way to chill out after a long day and give my face a breather.
I'll firstly take off all my make-up using my Garnier micellar cleansing water, i usually use more than one cotton pad for this to get all my make-up off. I'll use one for my foundation, another two for my eye make-up and then i final once over all over my face to get it all off. I've only recently started using the micellar water as it's a lot lighter than the cleansing lotion i used before, it's perfect for cooling you down in summer as well! (Again, i go into more detail on my June Favourites post ^^)
I'll then tone my face using the Garnier softening toner. One pad all over my face, avoiding the delicate eye zone as this stings, a lot.
Finally, i use quite a heavy moisturiser on a night as i want my face to have a good cleanse and moisturise after a long day. The moisturiser i use is the Benefit total moisture moisturising cream. It's quite a thick moisturiser so if you have oily skin then i wouldn't recommend it, i'd recommend the Simple light moisturiser, it's not as oily and it makes you feel all fresh faced! But since i have quite dry skin i like to use a thicker moisturiser to help with that.

Now, on to the natural make-up look. This is something different that i've never tried on my blog before, so i'm aware it won't be perfect but i thought it would be good to start off with and maybe do a few more, if you guys like it!
First, here is the make-up and the brushes that i used. I've marked on what i used them for, but i tell you what type of brushes they are too and what their actually uses are... (i never really use brushes for what they say they're suppose to be before.)

From left to right. Real Techniques contour brush, the foundation brush and the eye-shadow brushes were both in the same set i ordered from Amazon which i can't remember the name of, sorry! Avon powder brush, and the brushes on the end are both No7 blush brushes.
So, as you can tell i don't really use the brushes for what they're suppose to, i just use what's best for me!
Next is the make-up that i used!

In order from left to right. Rimmel match perfection foundation in the colour ivory, Collection concealer in the colour fair 1, Soap and Glory brow archery, NYC eye-shadow set but the name is rubbed off and i can't remember the name, sorry! Rimmel stay matte powder in the colour 001 transparent, Soap and Glory love at first blush, Bourjois bronzer and finally Tanya Burr lipgloss in the colour afternoon tea.

The make-up look is pretty simple even though it seems there's a lot to it, but it's really basic and great for those hot summer days when you can't really be bothered with a lot of make-up.
(I apologise for the really bad photos!)

I start off by applying my concealer under my eyes as i have quite bad under eye circles, sadly... But the collection concealer is perfect for under eye circles and blemishes and i'll then apply my foundation afterwards. I'll do my eye-brows afterwards and then start on my eye-shadow. For a base i'll use the lighter colour as the base and a darker brown colour in the crease to create a shadow. This eye shadow is very neutral if you're not the type to go mad with eye-shadow and it's a good start up point if you're wanting to start using eye-shadows, afterwards i'll apply my mascara.
I then apply my Rimmel powder all over my face to set the foundation, i have dry patches on my cheeks to i limit the amount of powder there and focus more powdering my t-zone as they are the more oily areas of the face. I'll use a small amount of bronzer in the cheek bones to contour my face and give my face a bit of colour, and i'll apply my blush to the apples of my cheeks! Finally, i'll apply the light pink lip gloss as i finish!
TADA! (it's nothing spectacular i know...)

Hope you enjoyed this bit different post! Let me know if you liked it and i'll do more!
Hope you like the make-up look and let me know if you'll give it a try too? It's casually easy and if you're lazy with make-up, like me, then this is a good look for you!
Thanks!

My dressing table!

13:27 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! Quite a spur of the moment blog post but i thought i'd show a little more "about me" and show you my dressing table! I try and decorate my room to express me, or things that i like really, so i hope you enjoy!

Okay, this is my "dressing table" sort of? It's basically a table built into the wall, but may as well put it to use and make it look pretty! Firstly, there is usually a mirror in the middle but i got rid of it for when i took the photo. I don't like to clutter it up too much so i've tried to keep it minimal but at the same time trying to make it look nice as well!

Firstly, we've got my jar of nail varnishes! I wanted a cute way to store my nail varnishes since i have so many of them (this is just one jar, i still have another bag full...) Get a cheap jar and just fill it up to the brim with nail varnishes (ah, so pintrest!) and it looks really and it's a great little piece to have on your dressing table, or even just a nice way to store them in your cupboard.

Next you've got my make-up brushes! This is actually a tea-light holder from tesco but i thought it would be perfect to store my brushes! (i'll probably use it for tea-lights soon enough...) It's suppose to be an owl and it fits all of my make-up brushes in really snug and it makes it easy access for getting ready and it just looks super cute! Store your make-up brushes doesn't have to be in a candle holder though, you can even use a jar like what i store my nail varnishes in and use that too! Or just use a pen/pencil holder, it'll all hold them really well!

Finally, we have a picture of me and Brian (see, i give you a name Bri!) I'm aware it's such a silly photo and yes we did have a little to drink when it was taken (don't sue me.. we are both 18.) But it makes me giggle every time i see it and it just makes me laugh, so i couldn't help but framing it! The yankee candle i got as a present from my parents for my birthday and it's grapefruit! It smells so summery and so fresh and i love it!

So, that was a quick post! I thought i'd update you guys and give you a little insight into me too! If you liked this, let me know? I also have a shelf of "nik-naks" that i could show you too, or even my pin board with all my photos on, tickets lots of things that are special to me! Let me know if you want more posts like this? Thanks!

June Favourites!

11:51 April Nicole Clark 0 Comments

Hey guys! Back with another favourites for the month of June! Bit of a mix this month but i hope that makes it a little more interesting for you to read, hope you guys enjoy!

Soap and Glory no clogs allowed, deep purifying cleanse mask. I'm quite awkward when it comes to face masks as i have quite sensitive skin and usually face masks do the complete opposite to my skin and break me out! BUT this soap and glory mask is amazing! It's self-heating mask you live on for 5 minutes or so and you wipe it off with a warm wash cloth, it's so good! It really cleanses your skin and makes you feel so fresh afterwards. It's a little pricey but it's cheaper than some more high-end products and it does the same job!
It's for normal to dry skin, so maybe if you're oily it might not be best but with face-masks they all differ with skin types.

Next, is the Garnier micellar water. Before i started using this i used the Simple cleansing lotion and their toner as well, i made a post about my skin care on here (http://aprilnicoleclark.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/my-night-time-skin-care-routine.html). But i decided to give micellar water a try as i've heard good things about it and i found this Garnier one and i've been loving it! It really feels like it properly cleanses and refreshes your face after removing your make-up, it's not at all oily and you just apply a small amount to a cotton wool pad and wipe over your face, it feels so fresh and clean! I use this with the Garnier toner and a Benefit moisturiser.

Then we have my Mac studio sculpt foundation in NW15 (because i am casper the friendly ghost..) I bought this quite a while ago but i never really used it as i when it was first applied i didn't like the texture, it was to "oily" for me, but i tried it a few weeks ago and i loved it! I don't use it as everyday wear i only use it if i'm going out somewhere, or i've got a long day as it does last quite a long time. It has a really good coverage and you don't need a lot as it blends really easily onto the skin. I wouldn't recommend it to oily skin though as it will probably not suit your skin type very well, as i have quite dry skin then it works okay with me.

Another piece of make-up i've been loving is the Bourjois chocolate bronzer. Now, most people have raved over this product for so long now and me, no surprise, was one of the last to give it a try.. and i love it. It's so pigmented and applies so nicely on the skin and it smells amazing! (I know it's not something you look for in make-up, but it's still a nice extra!) It's not expensive and it's just as good as some high-end bronzer's!

Now i have a favourite hair product too, the VO5 plump it up mousse! I tried the V05 smoothly does it mousse and i made a post about it in my February favourites a while back (http://aprilnicoleclark.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/february-favourites.html) and i loved that, so i thought i'd try the plump it up mousse too. I think i prefer this to the smoothly does it mousse, this gives a lot more volume and it makes my hair feel thicker as well, even when i straighten it afterwards.

And my final favourite of the month is another Soap and Glory product one of their blushes, "Love at first blush". I've been dying to get this for so long but any time that i went shopping it was always sold out, but now i finally have it and i love it! It's a shimmery pink blus and it gives you a great highlight on the cheek bones as well which i love. It's so pigmented too, you don't need to apply a lot just a "dusting" over the cheeks and it'll give a healthy glow, which i love for summer. It's quite similar to the estee lauder blush (which i can't remember the name of, sorry guys! but i think it's discontinued now *wah*).

Well, that's it! There were my June favourites! I can't believe it's July already, this year is going to quickly it's mad. This month is Brian's birthday as well, so i'm looking forward to that very much! (Make sure you all wish him happy birthday, July 17th..)
Anyway, hope you've enjoyed this months favourites. Let me know what your favourites are for this month!
