*UPDATED* My skin care routine! & Natural make-up look!
Hey guys! Bit of a different post this time. I've updated my skin care routine and thought you'd like to know what i'm now doing differently and i've decided to show you a natural make-up look! Now, i've never really done anything like this before so be nice (please) but i thought i'd give it a go. Let me know if you like it?
Hope you enjoy!
Firstly, my updated skin care routine! First of all, i'll show you my morning routine, as my night and day routines are slightly different. On a morning i'll get up and wash my face with a hot wash cloth, and apply my Simple triple action face wash. Now this face wash does smell a little funny as it has zinc and camomile in it, but it feels lovely on the skin and makes you feel so fresh when you're trying to wake-up yourself on a morning! It prevents stops and makes me skin feel really soft, if you've got sensitive skin like me then i would suggest using Simple products, they have barely anything in and feel great on the skin.
Finally, i will then apply my moisturiser/primer, which is still the same it is the Nivea moisture prime. I love this stuff! It goes on so lovely on the skin, it's great for people with sensitive skin and if you're lazy when it comes to primers (like me) if can all be done in one step! It makes your make-up last a lot longer and it makes your pores look almost invisible when applied!
Next, we have my night time skin care routine! This is just taking off my make-up on an evening, sometimes doing a face mask as well, just a way to chill out after a long day and give my face a breather.
I'll firstly take off all my make-up using my Garnier micellar cleansing water, i usually use more than one cotton pad for this to get all my make-up off. I'll use one for my foundation, another two for my eye make-up and then i final once over all over my face to get it all off. I've only recently started using the micellar water as it's a lot lighter than the cleansing lotion i used before, it's perfect for cooling you down in summer as well! (Again, i go into more detail on my June Favourites post ^^)
I'll then tone my face using the Garnier softening toner. One pad all over my face, avoiding the delicate eye zone as this stings, a lot.
Finally, i use quite a heavy moisturiser on a night as i want my face to have a good cleanse and moisturise after a long day. The moisturiser i use is the Benefit total moisture moisturising cream. It's quite a thick moisturiser so if you have oily skin then i wouldn't recommend it, i'd recommend the Simple light moisturiser, it's not as oily and it makes you feel all fresh faced! But since i have quite dry skin i like to use a thicker moisturiser to help with that.
Now, on to the natural make-up look. This is something different that i've never tried on my blog before, so i'm aware it won't be perfect but i thought it would be good to start off with and maybe do a few more, if you guys like it!
First, here is the make-up and the brushes that i used. I've marked on what i used them for, but i tell you what type of brushes they are too and what their actually uses are... (i never really use brushes for what they say they're suppose to be before.)
From left to right. Real Techniques contour brush, the foundation brush and the eye-shadow brushes were both in the same set i ordered from Amazon which i can't remember the name of, sorry! Avon powder brush, and the brushes on the end are both No7 blush brushes.
So, as you can tell i don't really use the brushes for what they're suppose to, i just use what's best for me!
Next is the make-up that i used!
In order from left to right. Rimmel match perfection foundation in the colour ivory, Collection concealer in the colour fair 1, Soap and Glory brow archery, NYC eye-shadow set but the name is rubbed off and i can't remember the name, sorry! Rimmel stay matte powder in the colour 001 transparent, Soap and Glory love at first blush, Bourjois bronzer and finally Tanya Burr lipgloss in the colour afternoon tea.
The make-up look is pretty simple even though it seems there's a lot to it, but it's really basic and great for those hot summer days when you can't really be bothered with a lot of make-up.
(I apologise for the really bad photos!)
I start off by applying my concealer under my eyes as i have quite bad under eye circles, sadly... But the collection concealer is perfect for under eye circles and blemishes and i'll then apply my foundation afterwards. I'll do my eye-brows afterwards and then start on my eye-shadow. For a base i'll use the lighter colour as the base and a darker brown colour in the crease to create a shadow. This eye shadow is very neutral if you're not the type to go mad with eye-shadow and it's a good start up point if you're wanting to start using eye-shadows, afterwards i'll apply my mascara.
I then apply my Rimmel powder all over my face to set the foundation, i have dry patches on my cheeks to i limit the amount of powder there and focus more powdering my t-zone as they are the more oily areas of the face. I'll use a small amount of bronzer in the cheek bones to contour my face and give my face a bit of colour, and i'll apply my blush to the apples of my cheeks! Finally, i'll apply the light pink lip gloss as i finish!
TADA! (it's nothing spectacular i know...)
Hope you enjoyed this bit different post! Let me know if you liked it and i'll do more!
Hope you like the make-up look and let me know if you'll give it a try too? It's casually easy and if you're lazy with make-up, like me, then this is a good look for you!
Thanks!
